We have signed a Sister City Protocol between our municipality and the town of Karaburun in \u0130zmir, T\u00fcrkiye, with the aim of creating mutual benefit in the social, cultural and economic fields.<\/p>\n
During the two days we were hosted in Karaburun, together with Mayor \u0130lkay Girgin Erdo\u011fan and her colleagues we visited and examined the Karaburun Municipality Olive Oil Factory and the E\u011flenhoca Goat Cheese Dairy, the Ceramics Workshop, the Training Centres, the Health and Wellbeing Centre, the Children\u2019s Guesthouse and the summer facilities.<\/p>\n
After presenting the E\u011flenhoca Village Square Project, now nearing completion, we visited the district\u2019s historic and tourist sites \u2014 K\u00f6sedere, \u0130necik, Kaynarp\u0131nar, Old Mordo\u011fan Village, Sarp\u0131nc\u0131k Lighthouse, Yeniliman, Bozk\u00f6y, Sazak and K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fckbah\u00e7e \u2014 and toured the Karaburun town centre, Karaburun \u0130skele and Mordo\u011fan neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n
We are pleased that two tourism districts sharing a local-government outlook that grows agriculture and tourism together without disturbing the town\u2019s natural character have become sister cities. We extend our thanks to Mr Nazmi Buldanl\u0131o\u011flu, for many years a lecturer in Tourism Management at the European University of Lefke, who brought us together during the sister-city process. We hope the protocol we have signed will produce positive results\u2026<\/p>\n\n\t\t
