Food safety training was held in Cittaslow Lefke today
Food producers operating within the boundaries of Lefke Municipality who make niche products specific to the region attended training held on behalf of Lefke Municipality today, under the Food Safety Protocol signed between the Northern Cyprus Cittaslow Network and the Chamber of Food Engineers.
Today there are difficulties in access to healthy and fairly produced food as well as in production itself.
The effects of globalisation, and in particular the pandemic whose effects are still felt today, have shown once again how important access to healthy, good food is. In our region — the one with the widest variety of agricultural produce in Northern Cyprus — Food Safety Training was held within our municipality in order to bring out the quality and brand value of the products offered to us by the women producing here. Participants were briefed on what to pay attention to at each stage as food travels from the field to our table.
