SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT 2021 ACTIVITY REPORT

· Transport to hospital was provided for 41 people.

· Medicine supply was provided for 463 people.

· Hairdressing and barber services were provided for 528 people.

· Flowers were sent on their birthdays to 866 residents of our district aged 65 and over.

· Lists were prepared of residents aged 65 and over in our district for vaccination. (January 2021)

· A vaccine request register was begun for people aged 65 and over and for people aged 55–65 with chronic illnesses, to be passed to the doctor on duty at the vaccination centre. (February 2021)

· Lists were prepared of residents of our district to receive food aid. (March 2021)

· Packages were prepared and distributed to those on the food aid list. (March 2021)

· The vaccine request register for people aged 65 and over and people aged 55–65 with chronic illnesses was continued and sent to Cengiz Topel Hospital each week. (March 2021)

· The vaccine request lists we kept for people aged 65 and over and people aged 55–65 with chronic illnesses were sent to the Ministry of Health call centre for registration. (April 2021)

· When the age limit for vaccination was lowered to 50, the vaccine request list was continued for people aged 50 and over. (April 2021)

· A list was drawn up of bedridden patients living in Lefke who wished to be vaccinated, and sent to the Ministry of Health Call Centre for registration. (April 2021)

· Following discussions with the headman of Yeşilırmak, a list was drawn up of villagers requesting vaccination, to be sent to the call centre. (April 2021)

· Nineteen bedridden patients living in our district who requested vaccination were vaccinated in cooperation with the Lefke Health Centre. (April 2021)

· In cooperation with the Civil Defence Organisation, iftar meals were distributed with municipal staff to 350 people in need living in our district. (May 2021)

· For Eid al-Fitr, food packages were distributed with municipal staff to 150 people in need. (May 2021)

· A wheelchair requested from Cengiz Topel Hospital was delivered to one person in need with walking difficulties. (May 2021)

· A refrigerator belonging to İyilik Durağı, a charity operating in our district, and kept at the Lefke Social Services Office, was delivered by our municipality to a person in need in Güzelyurt. (May 2021)

· Support was given to the Lefke Health Centre for the vaccination of the bedridden patients requesting vaccination whose list we had previously drawn up. (May 2021)

· Transport to hospital was provided for people wishing to have a PCR test in order to identify cases in our village of Taşpınar. (August 2021)

· Following discussions with the Lefke Health Centre, one person was vaccinated at home. (August 2021)

· Transport was arranged for the Lefke Health Centre medical team to travel to Yeşilırmak. (August 2021)

· Masks and disinfectant supplies were delivered on behalf of our municipality to nurseries and schools in our district. (September 2021)

· Transport was arranged three times for the Lefke Health Centre medical team to travel to Yeşilırmak. (September 2021)

· In cooperation with the Lefke Health Centre, five people were vaccinated at home. (September 2021)

· Transport to the pharmaceutical warehouse was arranged for Lefke Health Centre pharmacy staff to collect medicines. (September 2021)

· Transport was provided for one person for barber services. (September 2021)

· In cooperation with the Lefke Health Centre, 13 bedridden residents were vaccinated at home. (November 2021)

· Transport was provided for one person for barber services. (November 2021)

· Twenty students from the EUL Social Work Department were placed on internships in the department.
